ΒιΆΉΣ³» College earns achievement for excellence in financial reporting for 12th consecutive year

ΒιΆΉΣ³» was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for ΒιΆΉΣ³»'s comprehensive financial report for the Fiscal Year 2023.

The achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by ΒιΆΉΣ³» and its management, according to GFOA.

Jill Fletcher, ΒιΆΉΣ³»'s Chief Financial Officer, and the ΒιΆΉΣ³» Business Office were recognized for compiling the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Each year, ΒιΆΉΣ³» submits its ACFR to GFOA for review and evaluation by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to communicate the College's financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

β€œIt is an honor to be recognized by the GFOA for our team's hard work in financial reporting. The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report allows our community to see a complete picture of ΒιΆΉΣ³»β€™s economic condition and the public finances entrusted to us,” Fletcher said.

ΒιΆΉΣ³» has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year since first submitting an ACFR in 2012.

β€œReceiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is an exceptional accomplishment for ΒιΆΉΣ³» and our Business Office,” said Bob Johnson, ΒιΆΉΣ³» Board Chair. β€œWe are very proud of the hard work and dedication that goes into making the College a fiscally responsible and transparent entity for our community.”
