ΒιΆΉΣ³» College to offer Workplace Readiness Training for local employers

To support an expanding workforce, ΒιΆΉΣ³» will offer free Workplace Readiness Training for local businesses and their employees. The training is available through the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Noncredit Workforce Training Grant.

β€œΒιΆΉΣ³» is excited to offer this program to support local employers. These self-paced courses provide opportunities for employees to refresh essential skills needed for success in any work environment,” said LaCretia Konan, Associate Vice President of College Relations.

The ICCB’s Noncredit Workforce Training Grant aims to increase responsiveness to employer needs and workforce shortages by building capacity and strengthening the impact of noncredit workforce training at community colleges.

The Workplace Readiness Training takes about 10-15 hours to complete. The courses are entirely online and can be worked on at any time. Participants will earn a micro-credential and certificate of completion when finishing the courses. The training is available through Pathful Explorer, an interactive platform providing information and tools to help users explore career pathways and earn credentials.

Anyone interested in the training is encouraged to work with their employer or human resources (HR) representative to coordinate the training with ΒιΆΉΣ³». Business owners or HR representatives can visit to learn more or register.

Additionally, ΒιΆΉΣ³» plans to provide free training in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) topics in the spring. ΒιΆΉΣ³» will also offer free Business Growth Academy classes at the DeKalb Public Library in September and October. Learn more or register at .
