Associate in Arts
At Â鶹ӳ», an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is designed to parallel the first two years of coursework needed for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The A.A. degree focuses on arts, humanities, social sciences and behavioral sciences courses. You can earn an A.A. degree through our general pathway or choose one of Â鶹ӳ»â€™s many specific programs if you already know the major you want to study. Â鶹ӳ» now offers students the opportunity to complete an A.A. degree entirely online as a full-time or part-time student.
By earning an Associate in Arts, you may:

Program Details
- People with an associate degree have higher career earnings compared to those who have some college or do not have an education past high school, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
- Those who have earned an associate degree have a lower unemployment rate than people who have completed less education, according to BLS.
- Transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in your program of choice.
- A general Associate in Arts degree keeps your options available when choosing a major at the next level.
- Earn your degree entirely online as a full-time or part-time student.
This pathway is designed to allow students to complete a degree exclusively through eight-week courses. This option allows students to complete each course more quickly and focus on just two courses at a time. The eight-week course model is intensive, requiring students to commit significant time to coursework outside class meetings. It is recommended students follow this planner for success in the eight-week pathway.
- After being accepted to Â鶹ӳ», there is no formal program admissions process for an A.A. degree.
- Students interested in pursuing an A.A. degree are encouraged to speak with their academic advisor.
